Summer Outfit part 1.0

vrijdag 24 juni 2016

Hi you guys ! Final days of June are approaching and I'm about to get ready for my Summer holiday.
This year I wanted to make sure to be prepared like never before to get those cute outfits in my suitcase before you know it.

I've always been a bad holiday packer as I always wanted to extend my usual-at-home style on holiday ; now, it's not very practical to find black, greys and minimalistic items for your Summer style and by that I mean, sweaters, cashmeres and skinny black jeans. Way too hot.
So this year, I made a not to self to start on time, getting those super fun t-shirts, loose shirt jackets and shorts, into a special part of my walk-in-closet. I call it the beach-only part of my closet so I know exactly where to find my stuff once I get the suitcases out.

As I'm headed for Italy and Ibiza, I wanted to make sure my outfit choices could blend perfectly into both countries and it's style so I would not have to split up anything between them.
Let me get through a small part of my fave finds seen in the picture :

1. kimono/blouse/jackets with cute prints
2. bikini tops {as a replacement for a bra}
3. shorts, cotton or jean
4. flower headbands for minimalistic hair maintenance {they match messy beach waves perfectly}
5. shoes {on my shop list for Italy*}
6. ethnic bags or cotton shoppers with statement quotes
7. sunglasses {of course}
8. shoes {again, on my shop list for Italy}**

* and ** because I want to buy Gucci shoes in the land of origin, don't ask why but it just feels right.
On top of that, every time I will look at those shoes, they will remind me of a fabulous time. I'm pretty sure I will live these next couple of weeks in my flip-flops and sandals ; I already stashed those weeks ago !

What are your essentials for Summer ? Any good tips for me ? Leave a note in the comments !

note : all items can be found at HM or Zara, except for the Gucci shoes

Ultimate Vegas Outfit

Ultimate Vegas Outfit

Just a fun post to begin the weekend ; what would I wear if I was to go to Las Vegas !?

I'd probably wear something nice and effortless like I always would. Some laid back black trousers with my latest favorite slip-ons from Cédric Charlier. On top a cool cotton glittery striped sweatshirt from Belgian brand Bellerose (oh oui, I'm chauvinistic and an ambassador for #ikkoopbelgisch), matched with my leopard print Summer coat from Ganni.
My latest 2 pack Sandro cross-body bag with golden chain would be just perfect for the occasion.

However, night time calls for a completely different outfit ! Bring on the bling and rhinestones baby.
This would be the perfect moment to finally wear my HM conscious collection silk skirt with embroidered rhinestones. A crop top to show of a bit of tummy and my reversible Isabel Marant bomber jacket when I'm leaving the Vegas stratosphere to find my way back to the hotel.
I always love me a cosy jacket on the ride back home ..
Oh and the shoes ! I did not mention the shoes yet !
A perfect pair of glitzy Gucci shoes to follow that yellow brick road to the end of the rainbow (hopefully filled with some $$$)

Latest Fashion Finds {January}

zaterdag 23 januari 2016

A short recap of my latest fashion finds for January ; pretty soon we'll be submerged in plenty of fashion week - pictures so I thought it would be nice to have a small "best of fashion and make-up"  {look at what I found} summary.

I am pretty obsessed with my ACNE bomber jacket and just as I thought, yes I can wear this because Winter just forgot about us here in Europe, flakes of snow start to drop airily but determined.
Winter is stinging us after all.
So hence my maxi Isabel Marant scarf to match my Rue Blanche Winter coat. {coat not seen here but shown on my Instagram account}.
Urban Decay really promised what it is all about ; I never had such a well pigmented eye shadow before ; no need to dab your brush ruthlessly into your shades ! Just stroke it gently and you'll discover it will tint your eyelids to perfection.
Liking the lipstick {Nude2} even more.
So ladies, if you're not a proud owner of a NAKED Palette eye shadow case yet, hurry up and move your a** to the nearest Paris XL store in town.

As this morning, I discovered Diamati Per Tutti is launching their latest collection in Paris ; feel free to follow their Instagram account to see what's in store pretty soon.

Wishing you guys a lovely weekend filled with joy and beautiful experiences.

Soft Tones

maandag 26 oktober 2015

One of my school assignments was to get inspired by a (favourite) photographer and making some pictures in his/her typical style.
As I've always been a big Erwin Olaf fan, I didn't need to think long who I would choose for this particular project.

Looking and submerging myself into his GRIEF series, I knew I just had to make something like this.
Of course I'm no professional (yet) and I can't even imagine comparing myself for 1% to someone with an incredible talent such as Olaf, I guess I've captured the spirit and tone of those particular series. Having the perfect wardrobe at home with all these demure, beige, camel or mokka tones, the one thing I didn't need to look for was a stylist.

I asked my friend Niamh to be my model - I just knew I could count on her - and so we made a couple of shots to recreate this GRIEF-inspired mood. I did not want to copy the GRIEF pictures to perfection, just wanted a somewhat similar atmosphere, maybe STRONG would be a better name to baptize my own series for this school task.

I hope you like them - any type of constructive feedback is welcome - just let me know what you think about them.

For this shoot we used :
grey knit by Zara
black skirt by Zara
purse by Hermès
Pussy Bow blouse by Just in Case
