Les Marionettes Géants de Royal de Luxe

Yesterday we saluted the wonderful people of Royal de Luxe and waved grandma goodbye during her triumphant exodus in the Antwerp harbour. 

She and her 'small' companion paraded through our Antwerp streets once more and left many of us in awe during these final hours.

Oh how we love our Giants !!

restaurant Món te Antwerpen

After a hectic week, it's always nice to have your feet under the table of a nice restaurant on a Friday night. Friday nights are our date-nights and since we've moved to a more quieter district in town, it's always nice to 'shift' ourselves to a more vibrant part of Antwerp.

Think MAS museum and boats in docks, Món is situated at one of the quays near the harbour and  upcoming area 't Eilandje.
We choose cheese and crayfish croquettes for starters ; homemade pot roast and original sausage with pistachio's and agaric mushrooms for our main dishes and had some exceptional streaky bacon and braised apples for our dessert !

Add some very friendly staff and a lovely interior to this and it may sound like a perfect evening. Well .. it was. I highly recommend this place when visiting Antwerp ; best to book a place in advance {it's possible to make reservations online for < 8 people}. You can make your reservations here :

HAY store in Antwerp !

I'm extremely happy HAY chose my hometown to open it's flagshipstore. The HAY store lies hidden away but that doesn't hold back customers to go inside and walk into to this loft inspired space.

I'm sharing some of my favourite items here ; next week I'll be posting some pictures of the actual store itself ! Stay tuned if you're into Danish design and minimalism.

real people : meet Anaïs

Meet Anaïs, the lovely sales assistant from the APC shop in Antwerp. I love her effortless style ; she definitely knows how to nail the 'less is more' look. LBD and rock chic booties, vamped up with bright red lips ..

Dit is Anaïs van de APC winkel in Antwerpen. Prachtig, die onbedachtzame stijl ; een mooi voorbeeld van 'less is more'. LBD gecombineerd met zwarte enkellaarsjes, die dat extra vleugje rock aan haar outfit toevoegen ; de rode lippen zorgen voor de finale signatuur.

Inspired by this picture on Stockholm Streetstyle I bumped into a similar model today from MSGM at Renaissance in Antwerp. I never thought such a wide(r) pair of pants would suit me, but happy as I am, it does.

Pure white with a bright red side stripe, one can easily dream off and picture themselves a BFF of Coco Chanel in the 1930ies. They feel amazing and have a perfect fit ; now all I need to do is try them with heels and ask my seamstress to make them perfect, lengh twise ..  can't wait to pair them with a cute little top and a Chanel blazer .. Geïnspireerd door dit beeld op de Stockholm Streetstyle blog (klik hierboven in de Engelse tekst), zag ik vandaag een gelijkaardige broek van het label MSGM bij Renaissance in Antwerpen. Nooit gedacht dat deze wijde broek me zou staan, ik meet amper 162 cm - maar wonder boven wonder, het staat me ! Ik ben een happy bunny ! 

De broek is in witte crêpe en heeft 2 rode zijstrepen. Ik zag mezelf al helemaal terug gekatapulteerd naar de jaren 1930 en Coco Chanel was mijn BFF. Zo goed voelen ze dus aan ; de broek zit gewoon perfect. Nu moet moet ik eerst nog even terug met de juiste schoenen om de broek op de perfecte lengte te laten innemen. Ik kan niet wachten om deze laatste aankoop met de mijn Chanel vestje te combineren. Wordt vervolgd op Instagram.
