Let me grab the opportunity sharing 1 of my favourite blogs - and why not do so every Friday ..

Blogs are for me what magazines are for other people ; I do like my share of fashion mags but lately I've been investing in photo books. For me, as a student photography, my budget is well considered and I know I will have so much more from my photo books than any gossip mag or whatever can give me. But .. that does not mean I don't like to browse the internet .. hence my laptop and favourite blog(ger)s. Today I'd like to share the lovely Valentine with you guys. I'm pretty sure she will be known to most of you peeps but if you are not following her yet, please (read: move it move it move it) do so.

She gave me tons of dress inspiration already and today I like to dedicate my own style du jour to her latest blogspost. Got tons of scarfs myself, it's an addiction - don't save me - and somehow I never know how to style them because they make me look like the Queen. Not a good look - only works for Miroslava Duma.

I'm not a big fan of Dries van Noten's current collection but this beautiful top caught my eye in the  window display of the Antwerp flagship store today. 

Gold is a fabulous color to match basics like white and black ; rumour has it it will be here to stay next season too. So, it might be a good investment to add some golden items to your wardrobe !

Time to inhale some inspiration

I am off for a couple of days ; can't believe how fast time flies. It's only been a couple of weeks since my last trip. Got my new camera in tow and worked out some of the settings to try out. 

On top of my new camera I am also very pleased to have set a date to subscribe myself in January for lessons in digital photography. 

My life is going to change a lot once my sabbatical starts. I can't express how much I am looking forward to that. Hope to make myself very usefull too, socially. I'd like to work with and for people that aren't as fortunate as we are ; Moeders for Moeders (mother for mothers) takes in volunteers that put up their sleeves and help out in their activities to make life a little easier for the less fortunate. 

So, I'm pretty sure I will bring some inspiring stories to this blog. Life is just a little bit more than fashion and streetstyle looks.

Sundays are for ideas and how to work them out

I've been obsessing about this Olivia Palermo outfit by Rochas. Last week, I found this amazing blue brocade fabric ; it was so beautiful I purchased enough meters so I would have enough for any project I still needed to work out. Meanwhile I found a great pattern similar to the skirt seen in the first picture.

And so ideas gently take form and I know exactly what to do with the blue brocade.

Now all I need is to figure out if I want a top or jacket to match this skirt.

A jacket is great because it can be pimped up with some awesome pearl and rhinestone  encrusted buttons. Will work something out and as soon as it's finished I'll share my outfit with you !

Olivia Palermo is one of my style inspirations ; for me, she's the queen of accessories. She manages to style cheap with chic in such a way, everything she wears looks like a million dollars. 

I don't know how she does it but she mixes unlikely styles together and totally pulls it off, every single time. The fashion police could never fine Olivia for a fashion-faux-pas, in my opinion.

Olivia Palermo is één van mijn mode inspiraties ; Olivia is dé koningin van de accessoires. Ze slaagt er in goedkoop met high end op die wijze te combineren, dat alles wat ze draagt er uit ziet alsof het een fortuin gekost heeft. 

Waar ze ook in uitblinkt zijn haar 'foute' combinaties die wonderwel perfect op elkaar afgestemd lijken, eens ze om haar frêle lijf gedrapeerd zijn. De fashion police heeft haar naar mijn bescheiden mening, nog nooit kunnen beboeten op een fashion-faux-pas ..

We all have some little tokens of affection, pictures, baby shoes, keys, a pencil you took from that hotel in Capri .. mostly they end up in an old shoe box or get lost when you move from one house to another.
What if there was a way to collect these precious items, seal it off from peeping Toms and you get to decide when in the near or far away future somebody can open it ..

Vandaag kreeg ik een leuk bericht ; maakte echt mijn dag goed.
Dit is echt een geweldig idee ; we hebben allemaal van die kleine dingen die we willen bewaren. Kattebelletjes, foto's, baby slofjes, sleutels, een potlood dat je uit het hotel in Capri meenam .. Meestal eindigen deze dingen in een oude schoendoos of vind je ze nooit meer terug na een eerstvolgende verhuis.
Wat als .. er nu eens een manier was om deze spullen te bewaren, te verzegelen (ver weg van nieuwsgierige blikken) en jij beslist wanneer in de nabije of verre toekomst de capsule geopend mag worden.
