It's the time to be happy, cosy and cocooning

Hey you, yes I know, I plead guilty, I have been a bad bad blogger lately.

Working on so many things lately I hardly have some personal time for myself ; but hey, I'm not complaining. Life is good, I work hard and see the results of it and I love when people appreciate what you are doing.

Also, as you might know, I have my own little knit shop, full with slow knitted goodies.
I made (and making) some awesome chunky knits right now and gently, the first orders are starting to come in. Suddenly people realize it's almost that time of year ! Christmas !!
Wish lists are made and presents need to be chosen.

You might take a look at my cute little online shop and see what I'm up too. If we are not connected yet through Instagram, hurry up and click to follow ! You won't regret and I'm a loyal 'I'll follow you back kind of person'

Each year, I want a nice but new color theme for my Christmas table. Copper is the 'hot' color now, so it was very easy for me to slowly search and purchase lovely items to decorate my table pretty soon.
Just decided to add some charcoal and mix it with the warmth of the copper tone ; I headed for Dille & Kamille today and was very happy to discover they have a wide range of table linnen in long sizes too. Fortunately they had 2 hues of charcoal ; I opted for the darkest and longest one in their range.
300 x 150 cm is just perfect for a long and wide table like ours.

All things copper were found at Sissy Boy, my local supermarket and De tafel van Amandine ; as you can see in the picture, these colors mix very well. I really like this feel and my biggest inspiration was  the Local Milk blog .
I'm totally obsessed by Beth and her style and hopefully, I get the approach right, so I can enjoy my Christmas dinner like a boss !

I'll promise, just like last year, I'll update you guys as soon as all pictures are taken, developed and stashed in my Lightroom folder.

Winter Knits {pattern)

zondag 8 november 2015

As Winter is lurking around the corner and I'm slowly getting back into my knitting routine again, I'd like to share my latest DIY-project with you guys.

Being totally obsessed with all these beautiful bottle green colors in fashion, it did not take me long to decide what color my chunky Winter scarf would be.
When posting many of my knit-work-pics on Instagram I often get private messages in my DM box to ask if I could (#prettyplease) make something similar by demand.

As my school work gets more intense every semester,  I just can't live up to all orders I would love to do and make, but hey, I'm only human and am not an octopus with 8 arms !
So this is the perfect moment to write a blogpost with a first of many patterns to come, so you can DIY-it yourselves !
I'll promise, once the scarf is finished you'll be so proud !

So here it is, it's actually not that difficult ; beginners might even get a go at this faux-rib stitch  :

you'll need:
10mm needles {US 15}
a mix of mohair and merino yarns {I mixed 5 threads to give it that extra chunky look}

Start to set up your yarns and pick a multiple of 4 + 1 additional stitch
I got 36 + 1 for my scarf

ROW 1 : Right Side * P1 - K3 * P1 (end of row)
ROW 2 : Wrong Side (beginning of row) K1 * K1 - P1 - K2 *

Repeat rows 1 and 2 till the desired length of the scarf

this is what it should look like

{Over} the Ocean ..

zaterdag 7 november 2015

About 2 years ago, Richard Hawley had an amazing gig here in Brussels and I still get silent and touched when I hear the live version of one of his songs, The Ocean.
So when I look back at these pictures of San Francisco, I instantly get that song in my head
Even though we have to attend meetings and work for long hours, we always take the time to enjoy the views and surroundings.

SF is such an amazing place, not only to work but it's - like New York - the closest to the European way of living.

Now, I really want to see Richard Hawley again and as it happens, he's coming to Antwerp for a gig in the Arenbergschouwburg on November 20th.
There are still some tickets available, so hurry if you want to see this amazingly talented guy.
