Party like it's a party at Studio 54

Hi sweet blogosphere friends !

Let me grab this opportunity wishing you all the best for 2014.

These last few months have been wonderful ; I really discovered the nicest blogs and people down here. 

This was one of my better decisions, starting to blog yet again.

So much has changed for the good ; hence Instagram accounts and Facebook pages to like. 

As I don't have pictures of New Years eve/day parties yet, I'd like to share some details : 

this is actually an open bookcase/wardrobe in my bedroom. 

As Carrie Bradshaw once said ; I like my money where I can see it ; lying in my closet .. 

Why hide these beautiful books, accessories and shoes when you can actually enjoy the view.

Maybe you'll notice I like a bit of nostalgia ; oldskool is cool and never fails. From Great Gatsby hair adornments to 70-ies clutches and Studio 54 pictures.

I wanna STAY here forever ..

Ever since the Nationalestraat has officially reopened after restoration, fabulous new shops arise in the fashion district. Near the MoMu and Fashion Academy, STAY opened it's doors a couple of weeks ago.

This is my kind of shop : beautiful brands - a coffee space in the back of the store and pretty much everything is for sale ! 

Seriously love their concept. This boutique bar also organises workshops, tastings and a Sunday brunch. You even can 'rent' the venue for a private shopping night : enjoy an evening of shopping, tasting and relaxing with your besties ! 

Cool idea, right ?

Pop in their store when you hit Antwerpen and meet Tinne and Stéphanie Coucke yourself ; submerge in their stunning shop at the Nationalestraat 49 {and like them on Facebook too}

Fly shoes

Today my Nike Flyknit Lunar 1+ shoes arrived by mail.

So happy with them ; must say Nike did a perfect enactment of the delivery and shipping.

I teamed them with my oversized Essentiel coat, Isabel Marant Scotty sweatshirt and 

my grey quilted Chanel bag. The scarf is an old Bellerose one. 

The wolf grey Nike's add something funky to this outfit. 

Perfect shoes to walk or run errands, searching for last minute presents.

This year to save me from tears .. I'll give it to someone special ..

A little impression of my (OTT) table decorations. Although I like it no nonsense and simple, Christmas is an opportunity to sparkle and go OTT with something extra ..

a day off ; no heels

My very fashionable friend Valy asked me if I had seen these Nike beauties (in this particular wolf grey) in any place in Antwerp. I had to dissapoint her. Sure, the flyknit lunar 1+ seemed to be everywhere in army green or black ; never in this softer grey/neon version.

I even went to the Paris Nike shop but not a single pair of this grey could be found.

Awakening the hunter in us and not finding them wasn't an option  ; 

she finally ordered them online and so did I.

Being a New Balance fan for some time, it seemed a bit trickier for me to fall in love again with any other label. But when I saw Valy with these Nike sneakers, I had to admit she made a very good choice. So,  she convinced me to flit to the Nike side.

I was fortunate to order them just now and was granted a reduction too !

Wepa !

I just can't wait to wear them after all these festive days I will spend in high heels.

It's the most wonderful of the year !

Don't you just love the sequins overkill this time of year ?

Streets are crowded with (last minute) shoppers ; presents and party outfits are carefully chosen and shops work overtime 7/7.

What is your favourite party outfit ? 

Share your Sparkle (part deux)

 The trend of socks in sandals or heels has been around for a while and I must admit, the more I see fashionista's are being photographed in them on various blogs, the more I like it.

In fact, don't you think it's a fabulous way to extend Summer shoes fashion into a colder season ?

Of course you can't just use your worn out daily base socks ; they need some sparkle or precious ajour pattern to show off.

COS has some great colours in silk, wool and lurex.

And for a very reasonable price. 

Would you wear this ? Or is this just a fashion no-no for you ?

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas everywhere. The good thing about December is you can dress a bit more festive, even when you're just going to work, go out and walk your dog, whatever ..

Everybody's starting to make an effort ; it became very obvious today when I ran my errands.

10 days til Christmas today ; makes you think the world will finally end up a better place.
Lots of charities do the best to make the most for the less fortunate among us. So let's not just think about our personal wish list (by that, I mean the material one ..) but actually DO/ACT to make it happen.
Of course, a girl may always dream and wish for some pretty stuff too. I'm hoping to find that perfect blush pink bag next season - oh how I love that mini Brilliant by Delvaux - and some dashing Prada heels ! I can see myself totally strutting my stuff towards that new Martini place in town.
Also am very happy to have found that exquisite olive oil bottle I saw at Wout Bru's restaurant LO the other week. Ordered it straight away and hope it will be here on time to embellish my Christmas brunch table.

The week we all watched the Mandela memorial service - the countdown to Christmas has begun - angora wool was banned from future H&M collections and collabs - wish lists are appearing everywhere - NYFW announced they will dispel bloggers from their front rows - blush pink and powder pink will be the hottest colour next season
