Halloween make up not wasted

I am currently working a lot in the studio so make up and styling is very important to have a perfect final result ; my images and those of my fellow colleagues need to be perfect in the end.

As Halloween is approaching I was thinking to buy some darker hues for lips and contouring as this could be a perfect subject for our next assignment .. dramatic photography with a resplendant touch.

The role Carice van Houten is playing in Game of Thrones might just be the perfect example of what I am thinking about. We might just use the newest products by MAC and (newcomer in Antwerp) 

Wycon. 

I've had very nice results myself with their compact creme powder ; it's light and does not look caked like some other brands do. My trick is to apply it with a wet sponge : better to put it on layer by layer, not creating a brickwork of make up that looks too much and greasy.

Cheekbones can be accentuated naturally with MAC's studio fix perfecting stick ; oh yes I know, it's actually a concealer but comes very close to their previous contouring creme which is not available anymore in the Antwerp store.

Again, I'm applying this in a modest manner ; it's better to use it carefully than OTT.

My current compact foundation is by Wycon, as I told you guys already above ; my skin is still a bit tanned from the holidays, that's why I pick the 02 NATURALE for my complexion.

Lips are accentuated with the newest Wycon set n° 12 KIMONO KISSES and it's matching lipgloss N° 12 HOT & KISSES. This particular lipgloss/stick shows a golden shine once it's dry. Very spectacular I must say. For a more demure dark red lip, I advise you choose MAC's HE SAID - SHE SAID for lining and filling up your lips. Personally I mix it with my Golden Vintage Art Deco lips (the Dita von Teese set) n° 36.  This is as close to perfection a lipstick can get !

So while you're still thinking what to wear for Halloween, stack up your lipsticks and compact cremes today ; there are a million tutorials online on 'how to' apply this or that make-up.

I'm pretty sure series like Game of Thrones will provide you with lots of ideas for October 31st !

Urban Decay Naked2 pencil

Finally ! My long awaited lip pencil from the Urban Decay label has landed ! Already purchased the lipstick weeks ago but still in need to finish off my nude look with the exact same pencil color.

Am very pleased with it as it promises to be everything it should be.

It slides smoothly across your lips, leaving a perfect matte nude hue to complement natural lips or mix with the Naked2 lipstick of the same range. Meanwhile, I've been looking for a matchy-matchy nail color and some matte mousse make-up and concealer. It's easily applied with a (humid) clean sponge or brush (or fingers but that's less hygienic)and needs no extra powder as it is already pretty neat and matte by itself. 

To make the look complete I use a soft orange blush (creme) very gently on my cheeks and paint my nails with Catrice Luxury Nudes 12 Caramel Confession.

But only after I've treated them with a jojoba-oil product by Pro's.

I really love the nude/naked look ; it's a good daytime look so I can keep my fierce red lipstick color for date night and going out.

How to create the perfect eyebrow

1. Shape 

First brush your eyebrows upwards and cut hairs that are too long off with eyebrow scissors. Then at the bottom, remove hairs where necessary, on the basis of the natural shape of your eyebrow.

2. Define

Start with defining your eyebrows with pulling a line along your lower eyebrow hairs. You do this again for the upper eyebrow hairs. It accentuates the shape of your eyebrows.

3. Fill
You can fill your eyebrows using a pencil, powder or gel in a color, matching your own eyebrow color.

4. Fix it

Finally, you can always set your eyebrows with a transparent fixing gel. This ensures that your eyebrows, at the end of a busy day, are still perfect.

4. Let's get Naked

Teenagers are challenging ; from the ages 13 to 16 they like to find everything, stupid or boring. Secretly they might steel from mom's closet (oh yes, I've lost the occasional Chanel bag to my daughter, back in the day) but they never ever will admit they surreptitiously adore most of your stuff.
So if you're clever and got some detective skills, check your teenagers' Instagram account and try to find out what is hot and going around.
Fortunately, my girl has reached the age of 18 this year and I'm very happy the 'telly but no sound-days' are over.
We share stuff we love on our mutual IG accounts and this makes me super relaxed and confident to buy the perfect Christmas gifts for her.
So dear moms and dads, if you have a teenage daughter make sure you will leave her speechless but for a good reason.
Urban Decay is the most sought after make up brand right now but quite expensive for a young student. Christmas might just be the perfect moment to give her a NAKED palette ; make sure to get the right tones depending on the colour of her eyes.

Let me share my favorite blusher for Summer ; "Organza Coral" by &Other Stories !

As I'm not to keen to spend hours on a sun lounger but still wish to have a healthy glow, I'm using this lovely color to 'fake' a sun kissed skin.

Applied on my cheek bones, forehead and chin and a small amount on my nose, it looks like I spent a day or 3 at the French Riviera, without the damaging effect of the sun.

I never over powder my face (makes a 40-something look older instead of healthy) but gently touch up these areas in my face. Then I softly blend it with my fingers for that delicate touch. 

This blusher comes in many tones and if your skin is slightly darker, you might choose 1 hue darker to complement your face.
